This consultation has now closed and the project has been completed. Thank you for your input which has helped shape this project for the community.

Noosa Council is proud to present Floating Land 2017: Lost & Found.

Floating Land is a five-week arts festival of exhibitions, events and workshops in nature about nature, the highlight of which are the sculptures created in outdoor natural settings. Its aim is to leave no mark on the environment but only to make an impression on the people who visit.

The theme for 2017 will be Lost & Found It will be programmed over a five-week period from 8th September – 15th October 2017.

We are living in virtual times where our connection with the environment is increasingly through a digital realm. Floating Land: Lost & Found invites the audience to reconnect with the authenticity of nature through art. It will ask us to consider that loss is an inherent aspect of both the environment and the human experience, and through the process of loss we value what remains and become open to finding new futures.

Hi - this is Shona Wilson - one of the commissioned artists. I have just had a look here and noticed you have the old and now incorrect title for my work. It is not ADRIFT - it is now VISIBLE | INVISIBLE . thank you Shona

I haven't found the ENTRY FORM for the Artcycle Prize. Is that also closing 15th May? Is the artist to choose the recycled pieces from the Council centre - create their artwork then enter?

Pam Walpole asked almost 7 years ago

    Hi there,

Thanks for your question about ArtCycle.

ArtCycle closes on the 10th July. Entries are to be submitted through the online Portal

All of the information can be found in the website document library at Floating Land Documents There is a sample entry form located in the document library.

Artists can use preloved furniture, bric-a-brac, home wares etc from Noosa Council’s tip shop and/or from other second-hand centres to create their artworks. Images of the completed works are to be submitted with the entry form and these will be shortlisted to form the final exhibition. There are further specifications in the guidelines in the Document Library.

If you have any further questions please let us know.
