This would enable the visual arts and pottery aspects to continue, as well as expand activities to incorporate a number of the great ideas which have come through the community consultation.Driver: The Lower Mill Board, which is an incorporated, community based organisation, with a long history of involvement on the site is proposing to manage the Butter Factory on behalf of the community. It would administer the building and coordinate the activities and programming in consultation with interested individuals and organisations.What do you think of this concept? It would extend the existing arts components by adding new technology and collection based exhibits around the themes of environment, indigenous culture and heritage. It would aim to educate and entertain residents and tourists.Driver: This concept has been proposed by Bruce Cresswell & Jeanette Alfredson. This idea would see an expansion of the current pottery activities to form a cultural hub focussed on ceramics. Activities would include industry support, exhibitions, festivals, master classes and accredited training in ceramics.Driver: This concept has been proposed by professional practicing local artists, Rowley Drysdale and VitMartinek. It would require additional support to drive it and potentially a Registered Training Organisation. Proposal Summary

Cooroy Butter Factory is currently at this stageNoosa Council considered a range of options for the future operation of the Cooroy Butter Factory and resolved to trial a community managed model. Management and operation of the Cooroy Butter Factory will transfer to the Cooroy Future Group, formerly the Lower Mill Board for a twelve month trial through 2016.
