Skateboarders want vert ramp,smooth surfaces, water and shade

Over 100 people attended the Sunshine Beach Skate Day to provide their thoughts on what the Skate Park redevelopment should involve. Initial reviews of the surveys completed on the day indicate that skaters like the vert ramp most and dislike the existing rough surface of the concrete. Ideas for improvements were varied, with most requesting better shade and a better water bubbler. The main concern emerging from skaters for the redevelopment is to ensure the finished surface of the park is smooth and non-abrasive. Council will be working with designers Convic to consider the ideas generated from the Skate Day into the final skate park design.
