Have your Say on the Draft Pomona Place Plan
Thanks, Pomona for your feedback on the draft Pomona Place Plan between 18 October and 17 November.
Your feedback confirmed that we have listened, and the draft list of actions suggested by the community are in line with what you think is most important for your community.
You can find the draft Pomona Place Plan here and read a summary list of actions suggested by the community here.
We will finalise the Place Plan over the coming months and present the final Pomona Place Plan to Council for endorsement in early 2025.
Continue to drive the Place Plan forward with your community!
This is your Place Plan, Pomona! We are here to support you drive your plan forward.
A few members of the community have indicated that they would like to drive forward some of these actions as a priority as they are important to them and Pomona. If you would like to get involved, contact us at placemaking@noosa.qld.gov.au.
About the Pomona Place Plan
Noosa Council has been working with the Pomona community to develop the Pomona Place Plan. This is a pilot project for Council to test a new approach to planning, engaging, and improving the liveability of its diverse villages and towns.
The plan will bring together a shared vision to make Pomona an even better place to live in the future.
Last year we spoke to over 500 community members about what makes Pomona special and what you want the future of Pomona to look like. Thanks to your valuable contributions and feedback we have developed a number of potential actions for Pomona. Now we need your help to confirm and prioritise what's most important to your community.
Help us shape our action plan by providing your feedback.
To ensure that Pomona remains a unique and thriving community into the future, the Pomona Place Plan will:
- identify the characteristics and values that make Pomona special
- establish a shared vision
- outline actions for delivery by Council, community and other stakeholders over the next 10 years.
This pilot project will test new organisational governance structures and processes within Council and the community to develop learnings that will be applied to towns and villages across the shire through the Noosa Place Program. You can find out more about the Placemaking Program here.
