Consultation has concluded

UPDATE/OUTCOME: The Digital Hub opened its doors in September 2018. Since then, it has delivered an ambitious suite of programs, events and activities to support the region’s digital entrepreneurs, grow Noosa’s digital sector and develop young tech talent. Council purchased the bowls club site at Rufous Street in November 2014 and considered the future of that site as part of a larger conversation with Peregian residents, including a whole range of ideas previously put forward by the Peregian Beach community. Those ideas are rapidly coming to fruition with the construction

Those ideas are rapidly coming to fruition with the construction of the Peregian Beach Digital Hub now complete and digital entrepreneurs soon to take up occupancy.

The consultation for the master plan began in May 2015 as part of the Peregian - Your Say project and entailed: public meetings; community submissions here on Council's Your Say website; a design charette and meetings with key community stakeholders. A draft plan was developed by a team of local professionals coordinated by Sparks Architects.

The Rufous Street master plan includes: significant green space; a new building to house IT enterprises and a digital hub.Additional car parking spaces and traffic calming and pedestrian linkages to Peregian Village are also included.

The Peregian/Rufous Street Your Say Master Plan was adopted by Council in the March 2016 round of meetings.

Council granted a development permit for Material Change of Use and Reconfiguring of Lot at 253 & 255 David Low Way and 5-7 Rufous Street, Peregian Beach, at its Ordinary Meeting on the 21 July 2016.
