With Noosa Council re-established, there is a renewed focus on ensuring Noosa's enviable lifestyle is protected, further enhanced and not eroded by the stealth of poor decisions.
"The moment we compromise standards and accept poor outcomes, it is the beginning of losing what has made Noosa different," says Ross Sanderson, Design Manager, Noosa Council.
- Resisting the introduction of traffic lights and using roundabouts instead.
- Minimising the proliferation of signage.
- Providing cycling and walking networks.
- Planting vegetation native to the particular site
- Limiting building heights.
- Greening of our road corridors to soften hard infrastructure.
- Including natural materials in the design of infrastructure.
- Enhancing local character rather than contriving environments.
- Respecting and valuing our heritage buildings and places.
- Building in harmony with the natural environment.
