Noosa Shire Council is excited to announce that we are embarking on a journey to develop a master plan with the community to guide maintenance and improvements over the coming decades.

The Noosa Botanic Gardens on the shores of Lake Macdonald is an important local open space loved and utilised by locals and visitors alike. However, it is not currently being utilised to its highest potential and there is an opportunity to create an even better and more meaningful landscape experience.

You can view some of the beautiful features of the Noosa Botanic Gardens by looking at the Interactive Story Map, kindly shared by the Friends of the Noosa Botanic Gardens.

Your feedback in this first phase of engagement will inform the development of a draft master plan for the Noosa Botanic Gardens, which will be presented back to the community for a second round of community engagement.

This work will build on the Noosa Botanic Gardens Master Plan – Stage 1 Vision Statement prepared in 2017 in consultation with key stakeholders and the community as part of Council's strategic commitment to this valuable open space. This project identified the following vision for the gardens:

Gardens that celebrate vibrant community spaces – learning and connecting through nature.

As part of this project, we are eager to work collaboratively with the community and key project stakeholders to create a design underpinned by your ideas and aspirations. You can find out more about the Stakeholder Reference Group and their role in guiding the development of a draft master plan, including initial feedback, below.
