Carbon Reduction & Energy Efficiency Plan

This consultation has now closed and the project has been completed. Thank you for your input which has helped shape this project for the community.

Noosa Council approved the development of a Carbon Reduction & Energy Efficiency Plan to drive cultural change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The plan will:

  • Outline Council’s direction in reducing greenhouse gas emissions for the next 5 years;
  • Increase efficiency in natural resource use for households, businesses and in Council’s operations including: short term (annual) actions, particularly in the four focus areas of: buildings and home energy usage; renewable energy supply; transport and waste management;
  • Build community awareness of increasing energy costs, more efficient energy use, and developing habits and initiatives to reduce energy use at home and in buildings (e.g. installing solar panels; changing lighting to LED).
