Project News - Start of construction (September 2023)

The 2022 flooding event damaged four road sections along Black Mountain Road, with the large landslide making the road impassable. Council is pleased to advise the landslips near Crawfords Road, Eungella Drive, and approximately 200 metres west of the main landslide have now been reconstructed.

A huge amount of work has been happening behind the scenes to get construction on the large landslide started and connectivity restored. Council has appointed Hazell Bros as the lead contractor. The project team is still finalising details of the contract to enable construction to start as soon as possible. However, in good faith, the contractors and Council have been meeting with adjacent residents to ensure they are fully informed of the process and upcoming works.
