Consultation has concluded
This consultation has now closed and the final delivery of the project is complete. Thank you for all your input which has helped shape this project for the community.
BACKGROUND
Noosa Council has sought community feedback on the upgrade and improvements of Pioneer Park, Cooran. This upgrade is designed to enhance the social hub of the Cooran community.
Draft Design
Council has prepared a final design ( see page two of Project News 2 in the Document Library to the right of this screen ) based on items identified by the community to be included in a new park design and consultation feedback. These items include:
a new 2m wide concrete pathway network within the park, linking with 4 new car parking bays off Prince Street;
a new park shelter & BBQ facilities;
drainage improvements;
new turf to improve the surface of the park grounds;
a power supply to cater for future markets;
actions to prevent vehicle access via private property;
improved road access to properties;
new park seating;
existing playground upgrade
improved amenity of the area
increased usable green space
An arborist's report has identified unhealthy trees for removal to improve the overall safety of the park.

The community provided feedback by firstly viewing the project plan in the document library , then:
visiting our "Guestbook " online tool and commenting.

The feedback period closed on the Monday 5 March 2018.
Timeframes
Your feedback informed the final design (see Document Library Project News 2, page 2 to the right of this screen) and work is scheduled to commence in the 2017/2018 financial year with completion in the 2018/2019 financial year.

Council would like to thank the community for the positive feedback and response received during the recent phase which has informed the final design for this project - see page 2 of Project News 2 in the Document Library to the right of this screen. Work is programmed to start mid-June 2018 with construction expected to take 8 – 10 weeks, weather permitting.
