Koala Plan consultation now closed - Thank you Noosa
Council would like to thank submitters for their comments on the Noosa Shire Koala Conservation Plan. Forty-one submissions were received and most suggestions from the public have been included in the Plan.
Council will now consider adopting the Koala Conservation Plan and commence the delivery of actions that aim to protect and conserve Noosa’s koalas.
The University of the Sunshine has been granted $65,000 from the Noosa Biosphere Reserve Foundation for a Koala Health Mapping Project. The University of Sunshine Coast is calling for expressions of interest from landholders who may be interested in having ‘Maya’ or ‘Baxter’ the koala ‘poo’ sniffing dogs check out their property for evidence of koalas. Please contact Daniel Nugent dnugent@usc.edu.au if you are interested.
