Noosa Catchment Action Plan
The Noosa Catchment is one of Australia’s healthiest and most important river systems. It supports clean water, thriving wildlife, tourism, and the lifestyle that makes Noosa unique.
Noosa Council is working in partnership with the Council of Mayors SEQ Resilient Rivers Initiative to develop a long-term Catchment Action Plan for the Noosa River and surrounding waterways.
Community knowledge, local values and lived experience will help shape the plan alongside scientific and technical expertise.
The plan will help guide future waterway management, strengthen regional collaboration, and support the long-term health and resilience of the catchment in the face of growing environmental pressures. Caring for our catchment, together.

Phases
Resilient Rivers draft the Noosa Catchment Action Plan
In this phase, Resilient Rivers will draft a Catchment Action Plan for Noosa, using their framework to bring together technical studies and community and stakeholder feedback gathered through targeted and broader community engagement activities.
Before the draft plan is shared with the community for broader feedback, it will be presented to Council for endorsement to proceed to broader community engagement.
