At the 30 June 2025 Special Budget Meeting, Council resolved to commence the local law making process to amend Subordinate Local Law No. 5 (Parking) 2015 to increase the penalties for minor traffic offences.
The amendment to the Subordinate Local Law is named Parking (Amendment) Subordinate Local Law (No.1) 2025.
The proposed amendments are intended to:
encourage greater compliance by motorists
improve public safety
align with neighbouring local governments
discourage overstays
help alleviate congestion
improve parking availability in high demand areas
improve accessibility for people with disabilities.
In line with our obligations under the Local Government Act 2009 and Part D of Council’s Local Law Making Policy, you are invited to review the proposed Subordinate Local Law.

Please note that submissions must be received by 5:00pm 15 August 2025 stating:
the grounds of the submission; and
the facts and circumstances relied on in support of the grounds.
Hard copies of the associated documents are available to view at the Noosa Customer Service Centre in Tewantin.
Only properly made submissions can be considered. No acknowledgement will be issued on receipt of submissions.
