Noosaville Foreshore Land Use Master Plan
Consultation has concluded
This consultation has now closed and the final delivery of the project is underway. Thank you for all your input which has helped shape this project for the community.
The final Foreshore Plan was adopted at Council's Ordinary Meeting on 17th May 2018, see the final Plan here.
The Noosa River Foreshore is one of the most valued natural assets in Noosa Shire. The parklands along Gympie Terrace are loved by locals and visitors alike but could suffer from the pressures of increased visitation and use if not managed well.
Council appointed consultants Place Design Group to prepare a Noosaville Foreshore Land Use Master Plan. The aim of the Plan is to protect the integrity of the foreshore by carefully considering the balance between recreational use and commercial activities, events, markets and the like. Council’s vision for the foreshore is that its natural beauty is retained and use of the area ensures it can be enjoyed by future generations.
The first round of Community Consultation was undertaken in April/May 2017. Thank you to everyone who gave feedback! A report summarising the initial consultation outcomes is available in the document library to the right of screen.
Council adopted the Draft Noosaville Foreshore Land Use Master Plan in December 2017 and community consultation on the Draft Plan was undertaken between 22 January to 22 February 2018. Council received another strong response to this consultation - thank you to everyone who took the time to get involved.
Council considered a report on the final round of consultation and amendments to the Final Noosaville Foreshore Land Use Master at its May 2018 round of meetings.
