UPDATE - JUNE 2019: Council is currently finalising the detailed design for the Noosa Parade corridor upgrade. This includes landscaping and street lighting improvements. Once finalised the detailed design will be submitted to TMR for review and approval. Council’s DRAFT five-year capital works program includes funding for the construction of the Noosa Parade corridor upgrade. Please note that construction is subject to Council's budget process and CNLG grant funding.

Noosa Parade Upgrade Plan

Council has unveiled plans for a major upgrade of Noosa Parade between the Garth Prowd Bridge and Munna Point Bridge. The project is currently in design phase.

Noosa Parade is arguably one of the busiest routes for pedestrians and cyclists heading to and from Hastings Street, Noosa’s Main Beach, and the Noosa Heads National Park. This project will improve the safety and capacity of cycling and pedestrian facilities.

The plan includes:

  • dedicated, continuous on-road cycle lanes in both directions
  • seven mid-block, cut-through pedestrian refuges
  • a 2.5m wide shared use pathway on the northern side
  • upgraded LED lighting
  • enhanced landscaping and planting of new trees.

Construction of the project will depend on feedback to the design and future budget deliberations.

See the Information Factsheet and maps in the Documents Library to the right of the screen for more information about this project. Information about the impact on properties on Noosa Parade can also be viewed in the Documents Library, with plans illustrating the project’s design in the proximity of neighbouring properties.

Council thanks the community for the feedback received. Consultation on the design is now closed. Please see the News Feed below for updates, or alternatively, you can contact the project team by:
