Your Voice Matters!
The Noosa Shire is a great place to live, work and visit and is world-renowned for its natural beauty, environmental values and iconic natural features. Noosa Shire also has a rich history, and the built environment plays a role in telling Noosa’s story. This unique combination of natural, historical, and built features shape Noosa Shire's character and identity. The Noosa Community has told us that heritage and character are important and valued and council is committed to identifying, protecting and conserving that heritage through this Local Heritage Review.
During March 2023, Council is seeking to gain a better understanding of the community’s views about places that are significant to Noosa’s story, character and identity and to discover the places across the Shire, from the coast to the mountains, that are important in telling the story of the Noosa region over time.
Residents and property owners across the Noosa Shire, regional residents, community organisations, businesses, and visitors – anyone with a love of or interest in Noosa Shire – are invited to have their say and tell us what is important and what defines Noosa’s heritage and character.
We want you to share the places that you think represent unique local stories, have historical significance, are linked to those who have lived and worked in the region, have a special and unique attachment to/for the local community, have inherent beauty, or are the sites of significant technical, engineering or scientific innovation and invention.
