Planning & Environment Court Dismisses QIC's Appeal

The Planning & Environment Court dismissed QIC’s appeal in December 2016, upholding Council’s 2015 decision to refuse the application to double Noosa Civic. The judgement agreed that the proposal was a significant conflict with the planning scheme, would result in unacceptable impacts for other retail centres and had costly implications for the road network.

The site is zoned for business and industry to diversify our local economy and provide for future employment growth and new employment opportunities. The long term intent of the centre is to be business centre and not just a shopping centre.
