Waste Management Public Benefit Assessment

This consultation has now closed and the project has been completed. Thank you for your input which has helped shape this project for the community.

Noosa Council has reviewed its waste management business model to ensure it complies with National Competition Policy reforms.

As part of a Public Benefit Assessment (PBA) and invited the community to have their say on the Draft Report between February and March, 2016.

State government legislation requires councils to conduct Public Benefit Assessments (PBA) on financially significant business activities, to determine the appropriate business structure to apply.

At its meeting in February 2016, Council accepted the draft report and decided that the structural reform that would best apply the competitive neutrality principle to the waste business – was full cost pricing rather than establish a Council commercial business unit. See the Report located in the document library to the right of your screen.
