Community Develop the first Place Plan for the Shire in Pomona
Thanks, Pomona for your feedback on the draft Pomona Place Plan between 18 October and 17 November.
Your feedback confirmed that we have listened, and the draft list of actions suggested by the community is in line with what you think is most important for your community.
Our engagement and collaboration with you has also been recognised by the Planning Institute of Australia Awards for Planning Excellence.
You can find the final Pomona Place Plan (see PDF below) and review the community input to develop the Place Plan during Phase 1 and Phase 2 in the tabs on the right-hand side of your screen.

About the Pomona Place Plan
Noosa Council has been working with the Pomona community to develop the Pomona Place Plan. This is a pilot project for Council to test a new approach to planning, engaging, and improving the liveability of its diverse villages and towns.
The plan will bring together a shared vision to make Pomona an even better place to live in the future.
This pilot project will test new organisational governance structures and processes within Council and the community to develop learnings that will be applied to towns and villages across the shire through the Noosa Place Program. You can find out more about the Placemaking Program here

Survey 1
Last year we spoke to over 500 community members about what makes Pomona special, and your vision for the future.
We’ve used your feedback to develop some actions for the Pomona Place Plan. Now, we want to test these actions with you to determine your priorities for the future.
The Pomona Place Plan will contain a shared vision and action plan for us all to deliver in partnership to make Pomona an even better place to live in the future. It is important to note that some actions are outside the direct control of Council and would require advocacy to other stakeholders, as well as commitments from the community and business involvement for implementation.
The Pomona Place Plan will provide for short-term actions (immediate - up to 5 years) and guide the future for Pomona over the longer term (i.e. the next 5 - 20 years). Actions will be subject to funding through a range of sources over a long period.
