Noosa Social Strategy

Council invited residents and interested community organisations to join in a discussion about Noosa’s draft Social Strategy. In particular, Council was keen to receive feedback about the Strategy’s proposed aspirations and key initiatives to ensure it accurately reflected community needs and sentiments.

The community contributed to the development of the Social Strategy through:

  • Joining the discussions on Council’s YourSay Noosa forum;
  • Visiting Council Information Booths (Pop Ups) to speak with Council officers
  • Attending workshops

State government agencies and key service providers also provided feedback.

The Social Strategy aims to provide a framework to continue to improve community wellbeing and cohesivenessContinue reading

Final Social Strategy

December 1, 2015 - December 31, 2015

Noosa's Social Strategy was adopted by Council on December 17, 2015 after a comprehensive community consultation period. The original draft Strategy was amended in the final Social Strategy document to reflect the community's feedback which included: additional statistics added to the Community Snapshot section; new technologies required to integrate and deliver services; improved data collection required to inform social planning, advocacy and resource allocation; acknowledgement of the role artists play in community well being; the creation of a one stop Community Hub; and that Council's role implementing the strategy should be reinforced.
