The applicant is proposing that the centre open by 2018 if their application is approved.

Is a Myers or David Jones proposed as part of the extensions?

How will my submission be considered by Council?

All submissions will be summarised and included in the planning report to Council and will be considered at the time Council decides the application. This is why it is important when making a submission to detail any reasons why you support or object to the proposed development.

What will Council consider in deciding the application?

The Sustainable Planning Act 2009 includes statutory requirements for all Councils in deciding development applications.

Under the Sustainable Planning Act 2009 Council must assess the application against any relevant State planning regulatory provisions, the SEQ Regional Plan, State Planning Policies and The Noosa Plan. Council must also have regard to the material lodged by the applicant, submissions received during the public notification period and whether the proposal will benefit the community as a whole.

Council has a number of experienced officers on staff who will prepare a report for Council’s consideration on all these matters. External consultants including an Economist, Ecologist and Traffic Engineer have also been engaged to assist in the assessment and provide advice to Council.

When is the application likely to be decided by Council?

A report will be presented to Council once the applicant has completed the public notification requirements for the development application and the assessment is finalised. This is anticipated to be later this year.

If you choose to make a submission to the development application, Council will advise you of their decision in writing. If you supply an email address, you will receive the advice via email.
