Noosa Botanic Gardens Master Plan 2025
Noosa Council is preparing a long-term Master Plan to guide the future of the Noosa Botanic Gardens over the next 25 years.
The Draft Master Plan reflects community priorities identified during Phase 1 and was reviewed by the public during Phase 2 to ensure it aligns with community values and the unique character of the Gardens. Through this staged engagement process, the community has helped shape a plan that balances environmental stewardship, accessibility, cultural recognition and community use.
Key elements of the Draft Master Plan include:
- Expanded and relocated parking
- A welcoming arrivals precinct
- Accessible promenades and upgraded footpaths
- Improved signage and wayfinding
- Shaded seating and gathering areas
- A Botanic Playground
- Cultural spaces including a Reflection Zone and Bush Tucker gardens
- Flexible vendor areas
Phase 2 engagement provided further feedback on these elements, resulting in refinements prior to finalisation. Updated findings are detailed in the Phase 2 Community Engagement Report, with a summary and full report available in the document library and within the timeline below.
The Draft Master Plan is now progressing through review and refinement before presentation to Council.
Thank you to everyone who shared ideas, attended events, completed surveys or provided submissions. Your involvement has played an important role in shaping the future of the Gardens.

Phases
Phase 2 – Reviewed the Draft Master Plan
In Phase 2, the community was invited to review the Draft Master Plan and provide feedback to ensure it reflects community priorities and expectations.
Engagement was delivered from 13 October to 7 November 2025 and generated more than 120 contributions, including 80 online surveys, 23 written submissions and 21 pieces of anecdotal feedback captured through activations and pop-ups. You can view the past engagement events and activities delivered as part of Phase 2 below.
Feedback focused on design elements, accessibility, environmental considerations and the staging of future works. Overall findings demonstrated strong alignment between the Draft Master Plan and community values, with most feedback seeking refinement and clarification rather than major change.
A high-level overview of findings is available in the Community Engagement Summary.
For a detailed breakdown of engagement methods, survey data, qualitative feedback and recommendations, view the full Community Engagement Report.
Phase 2 engagement has now been completed and findings have been documented.
