Local Law Amendments

This project is now closed for comment. Council wishes to thank all who contributed their thoughts and ideas. Council adopted Local Law Amendments at its Ordinary Meeting on August 16, 2018.

BACKGROUND

At the Ordinary Meeting of 19 April 2018, Council adopted to propose to make amendments to some of its Local Laws.

As part of Council’s Local Law-making process, Council invited the public to make submissions in relation to the proposed amendments. The public consultation period ran from 27 April to 2018 to 25 May 2018.

The proposed amendments related to:

  • Regulating the operation of accommodation parks and shared facility accommodation;
  • Protecting vegetation on local government controlled areas;
  • Authorising local law 1 to apply to State-controlled roads in the local government area; and
  • Regulating of the installation of advertising devices, and in particular, election signs.
  • Regulating parking within a number of National Park carpark areas across the Shire.
