2026 Liveability Survey

Liveability is simply what a place is like to live in.

Understanding the relationship between people and their places is the key to understanding local liveability, and how it can be preserved and enhanced.

The survey provides us with an overall Shire wide score as well as individual locations across the shire. This valuable information helps to inform our planning and project priorities across the Shire.

In November 2021 Noosa Council in conjunction with Place Score conducted our first Liveability Survey. The Liveability Index score for Noosa Shire was 70, which is above the national average score of 68.

This score shows that Noosa Shire is performing well in terms of overall Liveability. You can find out the Liveability Index Score for your neighbourhood here.

The 2026 Liveability Survey ran from 2 February to 8 March, with strong community participation helping to build a clearer picture of life across Noosa today.
