Hilton Esplanade Improvement Project

Hilton Esplanade is a much-loved and peaceful riverside street in Noosaville, valued for its natural beauty and relaxed character.

Many parts of the street, foreshore reserve and underlying infrastructure have begun to show signs of age. In addition, the foreshore is at high risk from the impacts of climate change, including river flooding, sea level rise and storm tide inundation.

To tackle these challenges Council recognises that the area is now in need of thoughtful rejuvenation to ensure it remains safe, functional and enjoyable for residents and visitors well into the future.

During April - May 2026, Council is seeking community input into a range of important street improvement measures. These may include upgrades to:

  • stormwater drainage
  • enhancements to foreshore resilience and
  • refreshed street amenity.

We’re seeking input from residents, visitors and regular users to better understand how the area is used, what matters most, and where improvements may be needed. Your feedback will help shape future design options and priorities.

This project will be delivered in stages. The timeline below shows what’s happening now and what comes next, including when you can have your say.

These works are proudly funded by the Queensland Government’s Cycle Network Local Government Grants Program and QCoast2100, in association with Noosa Council.

We’re starting by listening. Through a short survey, pop-ups and early conversations, we’re gathering insights from the community about how Hilton Esplanade is used, what people value, and where improvements are needed. This input will help shape the initial direction of the project.
