Activities for all ages

From "Sundial Park Draft Master Plan"

Go to the project

The existing pump track is a fantastic community asset and is clearly well loved, however it can become congested with very young children who are still learning to scoot, which can make it difficult for older and more experienced children to use the track safely and as intended. A separate learn-to-scoot or learn-to-bike area would be a valuable addition, creating a safer space for younger children while allowing the pump track to better serve older users. Supporting facilities could also be improved with additional parent seating, picnic tables and shaded areas for hot summer days, as well as a bubbler and a toilet block. It would also be great to see facilities specifically designed for older children and teenagers, such as a basketball hoop, pull-up bars and simple outdoor fitness equipment which also could be used for adults of all ages for mobility mobility and strength training. Finally, a wild card suggestion of a small, shallow wet-play area similar to the one in Tewantin marina would be a fun addition, providing families with young children a safe and accessible way to cool off and enjoy the water locally during summer, without needing to travel into much busier Noosa. Together, these improvements would create a more inclusive, functional and engaging park for children of different ages, teenagers, parents and the wider community.
