Like many other local government areas in Queensland, Noosa Shire is facing a housing crisis making it hard for members of our community to keep Noosa home. Across our community we have heard how many people are struggling to find somewhere to live because of a lack of social and affordable housing.
Council is committed to ensuring the Noosa Shire is a place for everyone regardless of age, mobility, household size or budget. That’s why Noosa Council has developed the draft Housing Strategy, a plan designed to help keep Noosa home for members of our community. It details specific actions that will help address the current housing crisis and ensures our community continues to prosper and thrive as an inclusive community with accessible, diverse and affordable homes for people to live in.
The strategy has been informed by the Housing Needs Assessment, a comprehensive technical study on the context of housing and households in Noosa Shire.
Council is asking YOU to have your say on the draft Housing Strategy and will be engaging with the community through a number of activities from July 11 to August 7. This is your opportunity to help keep Noosa home for everyone.
