Consultation has concluded
UPDATE: This project is now closed for comment. Council wishes to thank all who took the time to have a say. Council adopted an update to theCorporate Plan 2017-2037on September 20, 2018.
BACKGROUND
Council invited the community to have a say on proposed changes to its corporate plan.
There is no change to our Council vision, values or purpose;
There is no change to our corporate planning framework; and
There is no change to the overall structure of our five themes.
What changes are proposed?
An acknowledgement of country and the Kabi Kabi people as the traditional custodians has been included;
Statistical information (demographics, economic data etc) has been updated;
Updated language in the key focus areas to reflect current status. For example, in our first version of the Corporate Plan, there were quite a few references to “adopt xyz strategy”. Where such strategies have subsequently been adopted, the reference now is to “implement xyz” strategy. An example would be the Zero Emissions Strategy;
Refining the various key focus areas to reflect current priorities;
Improving the grammar/readability and consistency of language across the document;
Adding a new section on development of a hierarchy of performance indicators; and
Refining the wording of our 20-year goal for the Noosa Environment. The previous version was “Our environment is protected, enhanced and valued by the community”. The proposed new wording is “Our environment is protected and enhanced, as well as being valued by the community”. There are no other changes to the wording in our defined goals.
In accordance with the Local Government Regulation 2012, Council may, by resolution, amend its 5-year Corporate Plan at any time.
Council invited the community to review and comment on the Draft Corporate Plan until 5pm, August 4, 2018.
