    The project to upgrade the David Low Way carpark at Castaways Beach is now complete. The upgrade has formalised the parking area, created room for more vehicles and generally made the area safer for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians. For more information, read the media release.

    In April 2017 Council committed $192,000 from the Heritage Levy to help repair and upgrade the hall, with the then-newly established Cooroy Memorial Hall Association (CMHA) to match Council’s funding dollar-for-dollar in cash, goods or in-kind services.
    This decision followed a comprehensive community consultation process.
    The restoration project, which was a great success, finished in April 2018. The Association enlisted a registered builder to carry out maintenance and upgrade the hall’s kitchen, toilets and entry points.
    The Cooroy Memorial Hall Association is now managing the revamped hall on a five-year lease arrangement.
