Council Budget Priorities 2023/24
Thank you for your feedback on the draft 2023/24 Budget. Council will now consider your input for further refinement of the Budget.
Thanks for your feedback on the draft budget! We heard that there is broad support for greater focus on investment in:
- Roads and maintenance
- Environment, weed management and the impacts of population growth
- Better waste and sustainability strategies
- Support for gambling reform.
Council will now consider community feedback in the refinement of the draft Budget before presenting it to Council for adoption on Friday 30th June 2023.
Following extensive community feedback on the key priorities for our community through the 2022 Liveability Survey and the Corporate Plan 2023 - 2028, Council wants to know if we got the priorities right for the 2023/24 Budget.
With cost of living pressures growing and significant increases to land valuations across the Shire for the second consecutive year, Council, like many household budgets, has faced enormous challenges to ensure this "Back to Basics" budget is equitable and delivers critical projects for the community.
Watch Mayor Clare Stewart announce the draft 2023/24 Budget open for community consultation until midnight 4th June:
The 2023/24 Budget has a key focus on continuing to deliver the core business that the community values most - improving roads, delivering capital works projects, and meeting the expectations of the community to ensure Noosa continues to be a great place to live, work and visit.
The budget also identifies several major projects that are deemed the most critical investment for the future of our community.
